Drilling

Drilling is the operation that involves creating holes in hard ground where extraction requires fragmentation through blasting. Procan uses terrain-adapted machines to carry out this operation, depending on the power levels to be drilled, their geological structure, and the recommended hole diameters.

Stripping

Stripping is the operation of removing overburden or interburden layers to expose and recover the ore layer to be mined. The stripping method varies from one mine to another, depending on the nature of the terrain and the thickness of the layers to be stripped. The most commonly used methods by Procan include: For this operation, Procan uses D11 bulldozers, which allow for the handling of large volumes. The waste material is pushed into the void created after the extraction of adjacent trenches in the case of an open-pit mine ("strip mining").

Loading and Haulage

This operation involves either: Removing waste material from the trench to designated dump areas to complete the stripping process, or Loading and transporting ore to stockpiles or crushing/screening plants. Procan uses suitable equipment to carry out this operation, depending on the volumes to be handled and the deposit specifications.
